Course Description
The Allstate Life Insurance℠ New York 13.1 Marathon® will be run within historic Flushing Meadows Corona Park, home of the 1939 and 1964 World's Fair. The course is WALKER FRIENDLY. The course and finish line will be open for 3 hours and 30 minutes (16 minute/mile pace).
Start: On Meridian Road behind the Luis Armstrong Stadium.
Course: Participants will go west on Meridian Road and run the entire loop. Once the participants go past the start line, they will continue to head west, make a left turn, and follow the ramp that will take them to the North Bridge.
They will cross the North Bridge, make a right turn, go around the traffic circle by the Hall of Science, and head south towards the zoo. The participants will run past the zoo, and make a left turn over the South Bridge. Once they cross the bridge they will make a right turn, and follow the overpass to Meadow Lake.
The participants will exit the overpass, make a right turn, follow the roadway around the lake, return back to the overpass, and cross over into Flushing Meadows Park. As they exit the overpass the participants will make a right turn, follow the path that goes through the interior of the park, behind the ice rink, past the Arthur Ashe Stadium, and head over the North Bridge.
They will cross the North Bridge, make a right turn, go around the traffic circle by the Hall of Science, and head south towards the zoo. The participants will run past the zoo, and make a left turn over the South Bridge. Once they cross the bridge they will make a right turn, and follow the overpass to Meadow Lake.
The participants will exit the overpass, make a right turn, follow the roadway around the lake, return back to the overpass, and cross over into Flushing Meadows Park. As they exit the overpass the participants will make a right turn, follow the path that goes through the interior of the park, behind the ice rink, and a left turn which will take them to the finish by the Fountain of Stars.
Finish: on the path by the Fountain of the Stars.

Mile Markers & Split Times
Each mile marker will have a large clock displaying the "gun time" of the event.
Event Status System
An Event Status System will be displayed at each mile marker indicating the status of the race based on the current course and weather conditions:
Green – "Normal" - Good conditions; runners/walkers should be alert and enjoy the race.
Yellow – "Caution" - Less than ideal conditions; runners/walkers should slow down and drink plenty of water.
Red – "Dangerous" - Potentially dangerous conditions;
- Heat - runners/walkers should slow down and drink plenty of water.
- Lighting/Hail/Tornado - runners/walkers should take cover at the closest shelter until the course is reopened.
Timing of the event has stopped and no awards will be given out at this time. Medical remains in place on course.
Black – "Cancelled" - Extreme dangerous conditions; Event cancelled, participation stopped – runners/walkers should stop, seek shelter and follow instructions from race staff, volunteers, and public safety officials.
Aid Stations
There will be water and sports drink at all stations along the course and at the start/finish. All Aid Stations on the course will have personnel and portable toilets located nearby.
Restroom Facilities
Portable toilets will be added in locations throughout the course. The portable toilets will be
located near each aid station.
Course Closings
For your safety and for the timely reopen of the streets to vehicular traffic, you must reach key locations by specified times or you will be required to take transportation provided.
- Partial lane closures will be utilized. Please stay inside the cones and obey all public safety officers and course marshals.
- PLEASE DO NOT START EARLY! Traffic and safety rules prohibit early starts. Early starters will be eliminated from the Official Results
SAG Wagon (support) and Back of the Pack Crew
The Back of the Pack Crew and SAG Wagon will signify the end of the field and the maximum 16-minutes per mile pace. They will not start timing until the last person crosses the start line and will be with you throughout the race. If you cannot keep pace, the Crew will help you as you board the SAG Wagon. If you cannot maintain an 16-minute per mile pace, you will be required to board the support buses.

Results Delivery System
Results delivery directly to your smart phone: Every 13.1® athlete will notice a QR code printed directly onto their race bib. Race results will be updated regularly online throughout the day. Runner Tracking - There are two different options for tracking available during the event.
1) Live Runner Tracking with Race My Race – virtually follow a participant’s real time progress throughout the course. Please CLICK HERE to sign up for Race My Race (charges may apply).
2) Free text-based messaging – receive important updates via email, text message or social media. To sign up, CLICK HERE. Sign up for this service will be available approx 1 week prior to race day.
All HALF MARATHON finishers will receive a medal upon crossing the finish line.
Awards & Medals
All participants that complete the half marathon race at the Allstate Life Insurance℠ New York 13.1 Marathon® will receive a unique spinning finisher's medal.
All age group award medals will be distributed from the Results tent at the finish line on race day - so don't forget to stop by, get your official finishing time and check if you won an award!
Custom designed award medals will be awarded 3 deep in each of the below age group for both males and females.

Please note that all age group awards are based on chip time, NOT gun time. However, Open winners and course records will be determined according to gun time.

Spectator Info
There are plenty of opportunities to catch a glimpse of your favorite athletes as the course winds through the park. We suggest a spots near the finish line so that you can meet up after and enjoy the post race party: near the Unisphere, Meadow Lake bridge, or the Fountain of the Planets!
Medical Info
Medical support during the Allstate Life Insurance℠ New York 13.1 Marathon® Series will be provided by health care professionals. Medical assistance will be available at each water station along the route providing medical assistance as needed. A fully-equipped medical facility will be located near the finish line.
Participants requiring medical assistance may be transported to one of the nearby hospitals, and will be billed by the hospital and ambulance provider. Participants must give on-scene medical personnel the freedom to determine which facility will be utilized.
IMPORTANT: Each participant must complete the medical information form on the back of your bib number. Please take time to fill out your medical information and provide emergency contact information. This will make your important health care information available to heath care professionals in the event you are unable to communicate with them.

Course Entertainment:
Allstate Life Insurance℠ New York 13.1 Marathon® Series will have entertainment stations along the course. This includes: Bands, Performances, Cheer Squads, Community Group Aid Stations and Dj's pumping tunes that will keep you movin' all through out the fun-filled 13.1 mile course.
Benefits:
There are many highlights to performing for Allstate Life Insurance℠ New York 13.1 Marathon® Series. Group name and booking information listed on the Allstate Life Insurance℠ New York 13.1 Marathon® Series web site. Group signage may also be displayed at your performance location as long as it does not interfere with the race. (Signage may only be 3'x6').
Time: Allstate Life Insurance℠ New York 13.1 Marathon® Series begins at 9:00 AM, which means your group must be at their assigned location by 9 AM. Everyone will finish by 12 PM, with some groups ending earlier, depending on your location on the course.
Where: Along the 13.1 mile half marathon course. Performance locations will be confirmed.
Equipment: All groups will be responsible for supplying their own equipment. Allstate Life Insurance℠ New York 13.1 Marathon® Series will provide access to electricity, either from a business or a generator.

If you are interested in any of the Allstate Life Insurance℠ 13.1 Marathon® Series events, please contact us at least two weeks prior to the event.
You must fill out the ELITE ATHLETE APPLICATION FORM to be considered for a complimentary entry into the race.
Athletes who participate in this competition may be subject to formal drug testing in accordance with USATF and IAAF rules, in accordance with USOC, USADA, or IAAF procedures. Athletes found, after a disciplinary hearing, to be positive for prohibited substances, as defined by the WADA Code and/or IAAF, or who refuse to be tested, will be disqualified from this event and may lose eligibility for future competitions. Any prize money payable to an athlete who has tested positive shall be withheld until the final disposition of all disciplinary proceedings. BEWARE: Some prescriptions, over the counter medications, and nutritional supplements may contain prohibited substances.
