Process:
Step 1: Visit each qualifying event's website to register (marathons, half marthons and relays count!). Be sure to use the same name and email address for each registration!
Step 2: Finish any three, four or all five events.
Step 3: Pick up your special medal at the Florida Storm Series tent in the post-race party of your 3rd, 4th and 5th event. Otherwise, medals will be available for pickup at the Life Time Athletic Events Florida offices or via mail for $5.

That's all you have to do. Register for the race, finish and collect your medal! Marathon, half maraton and relay distances count towards the series. 5K's do not.

Entry Requirements

  • Sorry, registration over the phone or by fax will NOT be accepted.
  • Only one participant per application.
  • Application may be photocopied.
  • Waiver MUST be signed in order to process application.
  • All participant MUST finish within three and half hours.
  • A fee of $25 will be charged for all returned checks.

Young Athletes:

Parent or guardian of all participants under the age of 14 will be required to sign an additional waiver at packet pick-up.

Disclaimer:

Race management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of management's control such as a natural disaster or other emergencies. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Management may also alter the course and distances for the safety of athletes.

Athletes With Disabilities

There will be No Handcycle Division. Due to safety issues on the course, and in accordance with the Paralympic Committee rules, NO handcycle (handbikes, handcrank devices or other mechanically gear driven devices) will be permitted in the race.

Racing Wheelchair Division Rules defined as follows:

  • Racing wheelchairs shall be defined as a customized performance chair.
  • International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics Rules will be enforced.
  • Further the race will abide by the rules and policies of the recognized governing bodies of the sports of wheelchair racing, which do not allow the use of mechanical gears found on handbikes. For additional information contact Wheelchair Sports USA, www.wusa.org and the International Paralympic Committee, www.paralympic.org.
  • Everyday Wheelchairs defined as follows:

    1. Everyday wheelchairs should be defined as stock manual wheelchairs.
    2. The wheelchair shall have at least four functional wheels.
    3. The overall length of the chair from outside casters/wheels to outside of rear wheel shall not exceed 100 cm.
    4. The rear wheel shall not exceed 70 cm. in diameter.
    5. The front casters/wheels shall not exceed 8 inches/17.6 cm. in diameter.
    6. The rear seat height must be greater than 30 cm. (13.6 inches). Persons of small stature may be exempt.
    7. Only one plain round hand rim is allowed for each rear wheel. This rule may be waived for persons having a single arm drive.
    8. No mechanical gears or levers shall be allowed.
    9. The chair should be manually propelled.
    10. All chairs are subject to a rules and safety inspection.
    11. Runners and walkers in all races will have the right of way. Wheelchair racers shall yield to runners or walkers.
    12. It will be the athlete's responsibility to meet the above rules.

    Course Description

    Half Marathon

    Enjoy a scenic course featuring the Downtown and Las Olas areas along with a unique run through the Henry Kinney Tunnel. Shoot out to A1A and run along the beach for a scenic course with a grand post-race beach party at South Beach Park. This course is full of entertainment, photo opportunities and surprises for all!

     

    Finish-Together Relay

    Grab a friend and conquer the relay as a 2-person team and finish together. YES! You actually get to cross the finish line with your teammate. Read below for more details.

    Team Member 1:     Start: 6:35 a.m.

    Start location: Team Member 1 should report to the start line at SW 1st Ave and SW 2nd St. 

    Distance: Approximately 4.7 miles

    Team Member 2:     Start: Team Member 2 should be at the exchange area at 6:35 a.m.

    Start location: Team Member 2 should report to the exchange area at 241 South Fort Lauderdale Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 3316. The exchange area is on Las Olas and A1A.

    Distance: Approximately 7.9 miles

    (Team Member 1 will wait in the same relay exchange area and join Team Member 2).

    Finish-Together: After Team Member 2 completes his/her leg, they will join Team Member 1 waiting at the exchange area to complete the last few kilometers of the race together. It is strongly recommended that you join up and finish together to ensure that you both receive your participant medal and have the opportunity to have your photo taken as you cross the finish line. Team members will each have the same bib number. Be aware of what your bib number is as you approach the transition area and look up for the sign relating to your number as well as recognizing your teammate.

     

    Life Time 5K

    Not running the half? The 5K course is boasting to be the best 5K course in town starting at mile 10 and running to the finish line. Enjoy the unique and flexible start times letting you start when you want between 7:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. If you’ve got family or friends running the half marathon, you can join them for the last 3.1 miles of their half marathon and cross the finish line together.

    • All finishers get to enjoy the great post race party and festivities at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park.

    Each mile marker will have a large clock displaying the "gun time" of the event.

    Aid Stations

    There will be water and sports drink at all stations along the course and at the start/finish. All Aid Stations on the course will have personnel and portable toilets located nearby.

    Restroom Facilities

    Portable toilets will be added in locations throughout the course. The portable toilets will be
    located near each aid station.

    Course Closings

    For your safety and for the timely reopen of the streets to vehicular traffic, you must reach key locations by specified times or you will be required to take transportation provided.

    • Partial lane closures will be utilized. Please stay inside the cones and obey all public safety officers and course marshals.
    • PLEASE DO NOT START EARLY! Traffic and safety rules prohibit early starts. Early starters will be eliminated from the Official Results

    SAG Wagon (support) and Back of the Pack Crew

    The Back of the Pack Crew and SAG Wagon will signify the end of the field and the maximum 16-minutes per mile pace. They will not start timing until the last person crosses the start line and will be with you throughout the race. If you cannot keep pace, the Crew will help you as you board the SAG Wagon. If you cannot maintain an 16-minute per mile pace, you will be required to board the support buses.

    Packet Pick-Up

    Packet pickup will be available Thursday, November 6 until Saturday, November 8 at different locations that will be announced closer to race day.

    In addition, packet pickup will be available on race morning from 5:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. If you plan to pick up your packet on race morning, please allow yourself enough time for long lines and to visit gear check.

     

    Spectator Info

    The streets of Fort Lauderdale are open for the runners, but it's the spectators that will help them get to the finish line. From start to finish, there are excellent opportunities to catch loved ones and friends running in the Allstate Life Insurance℠ Fort Lauderdale 13.1 Marathon®. As we get closer to race day, we will give you more information on some of the best locations to enjoy the race.

    Medical Info

    Medical support during the Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon Series will be provided by health care professionals. Medical assistance will be available at each water station along the route providing medical assistance as needed. A fully-equipped medical facility will be located near the finish line.

    Participants requiring medical assistance may be transported to one of the nearby hospitals, and will be billed by the hospital and ambulance provider. Participants must give on-scene medical personnel the freedom to determine which facility will be utilized.

    IMPORTANT: Each participant must complete the medical information form on the back of your bib number. Please take time to fill out your medical information and provide emergency contact information. This will make your important health care information available to heath care professionals in the event you are unable to communicate with them.

    Our road races are made for the people and run by the people. We take pride in working with some of the greatest individual and volunteer groups in the world.     Course Entertainment:

    Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon Series will have entertainment stations along the course. This includes: Bands, Performances, Cheer Squads, Community Group Aid Stations and Dj's pumping tunes that will keep you movin' all through out the fun-filled 13.1 mile course.

    Benefits:

    There are many highlights to performing for Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon Series. Group name and booking information listed on the Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon Series web site. Group signage may also be displayed at your performance location as long as it does not interfere with the race. (Signage may only be 3'x6').

    Time: Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon Series begins at 6:35 AM, which means your group must be at their assigned location by 7 AM. Everyone will finish by 12 PM, with some groups ending earlier, depending on your location on the course.

    Where: Along the 13.1 mile half marathon course. Performance locations will be confirmed.

    Equipment: All groups will be responsible for supplying their own equipment. Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon Series will provide access to electricity, either from a business or a generator.

    All HALF MARATHON and 5K finishers will receive a medal upon crossing the finish line.

    Awards & Medals

    All participants that complete the half marathon and 5K race at the Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon will receive a unique finisher's medal.

    All age group award medals will be distributed from the Results tent at the finish line on race day - so don't forget to stop by, get your official finishing time and check if you won an award!

    Custom designed award medals will be awarded 3 deep in each of the below age group for both males and females.

    Course Description

    The Life Time 5K race at the Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1 Marathon® will start on mile 10 of the half marathon and run to the finish line.     There is no parking available near the 5K start line. You will need to park at the half marathon start line located on 163 SW 1st Avenue where you will be taken by shuttle to the 5K start line. Please be at the half marathon start location before 6:30 a.m. in order to board the shuttles. Shuttles will be leaving every 25 minutes after 6:30 a.m. There will be shuttles taking you back to the half marathon start line from the finish line after the race from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

    The Life Time 5K race at the Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon will start and finish in 2121 N Ocean Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305.

    REGISTRATION

    Is there a minimum age?

    Yes. Participants must be at least 14 years old to run Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon.

    How do I confirm my registration?

    All participants will receive a confirmation email upon registering. If you are registered for Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon and would like to either confirm your entry or receive another email confirmation, please click here.

    Is there a limit on the number of participants in the race?

    Yes, there is a race cap for both Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon and Life Time 5K. Make sure to sign up early to reserve your spot in the race

    When will registration end?

    If space permits, registration will run through 5:45 a.m. on race morning, November 9, 2014.

    What is the Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon refund and transfer policy?

    We adhere to the standard running industry policy. All entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-deferrable. We have to plan accommodations well in advance for race participants, and therefore cannot offer refunds. You may not give or sell your race number to another individual. The entry fee for 2014 event WILL NOT transfer to the 2015 event, no exceptions. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have unexpected business or family emergencies, etc. No exceptions. Non-transferable.

    AWARDS

    Do all runners receive a medal for participating?

    Yes, each finisher in the half marathon and 5K will receive a commemorative finisher medal and will be eligible for age group awards. 5K race finishers will also be eligible for age group awards. Following the race there will be live entertainment and an awards ceremony. All participants and spectators are invited to attend the post-race party.

    What do I need to pick up my packet?

    You must show a picture ID to pick up your race packet.

    Can someone else pick up my packet?

    Yes. Runners may have someone else pick up their packet. You must have a copy of the participants email confirmation and a photocopy of their photo ID.

    Can my friends come to the race?

    Yes, all friends and family are welcome to come cheer on the runners.

    The race will start at 7:30 AM - 8:45 AM for Life Time 5K, 6:35 AM for half marathon.

    Can I run with IPods, mp3 players, strollers, dogs or headphones?

    NO. In consideration for safety of all participants, there will be NO coaches, skateboards, baby joggers, bikes, animals or in-line skates allowed on the course.

    Use of headphones during Life Time Athletic Events events is strongly discouraged for safety reasons. If one is intent on wearing headphones, please keep the volume low and consider wearing only one earpiece so you can hear important communications from race staff, public safety officials, and other participants

    How long is the Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon course open for?

    The Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon is opened for 3.5 hrs.

    Will I be able to finish the race on the sidewalk?

    After 3:30pm, runners may complete the race on the sidewalk. However, the Finish Line will close at 3:30pm

    Can I walk?

    Yes. Participants may walk but they must be able to complete the race by 3:30pm. Walkers must start behind the runners at the starting line. There is NO early start.

    Do I have to join a charity group to participate?

    No. You do not have to join a charity group to participate in the Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon.

    What time will the roads/lanes be closed?

    Road and lane closures will be posted. Check the Race Info page for the street list with times.

    Is the course closed to traffic?

    The race shares the road with traffic. The runners will be in a coned lane that separated the runners from traffic. There will be Police Officers placed at each traffic intersection to control traffic.

    How many Hydration Station will you have?

    There will be 11 Hydration Stations along the course, with plenty of water and sports drink.

    Will there be food at the finish line?

    Yes, there will be a variety of food options available at the finish line festival. All race participants will have access to the food tent. Spectators will not be allowed access.

    Is the course USA Track and Field Certified?

    Yes. The Michelob ULTRA Fort Lauderdale 13.1® Marathon course is USATF certified.

    What do I do if I injure myself on the course?

    There will be medical support along the course at each Aid Station. There will also be ambulances, bike EMS and medical support throughout the course.
