Entry Requirements

  • Sorry, registration over the phone or by fax will NOT be accepted.
  • Only one participant per application.
  • Application may be photocopied.
  • Waiver MUST be signed in order to process application.
  • All participant MUST finish within three and half hours.
  • A fee of $25 will be charged for all returned checks.

Young Athletes:

Parent or guardian of all participants under the age of 14 will be required to sign an additional waiver at packet pick-up.

Disclaimer:

Race management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of management's control such as a natural disaster or other emergencies. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Management may also alter the course and distances for the safety of athletes.

Athletes With Disabilities

There will be No Handcycle Division. Due to safety issues on the course, and in accordance with the Paralympic Committee rules, NO handcycle (handbikes, handcrank devices or other mechanically gear driven devices) will be permitted in the race.

Racing Wheelchair Division Rules defined as follows:

  • Racing wheelchairs shall be defined as a customized performance chair.
  • International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics Rules will be enforced.
  • Further the race will abide by the rules and policies of the recognized governing bodies of the sports of wheelchair racing, which do not allow the use of mechanical gears found on handbikes. For additional information contact Wheelchair Sports USA, www.wusa.org and the International Paralympic Committee, www.paralympic.org.
  • Everyday Wheelchairs defined as follows:

    1. Everyday wheelchairs should be defined as stock manual wheelchairs.
    2. The wheelchair shall have at least four functional wheels.
    3. The overall length of the chair from outside casters/wheels to outside of rear wheel shall not exceed 100 cm.
    4. The rear wheel shall not exceed 70 cm. in diameter.
    5. The front casters/wheels shall not exceed 8 inches/17.6 cm. in diameter.
    6. The rear seat height must be greater than 30 cm. (13.6 inches). Persons of small stature may be exempt.
    7. Only one plain round hand rim is allowed for each rear wheel. This rule may be waived for persons having a single arm drive.
    8. No mechanical gears or levers shall be allowed.
    9. The chair should be manually propelled.
    10. All chairs are subject to a rules and safety inspection.
    11. Runners and walkers in all races will have the right of way. Wheelchair racers shall yield to runners or walkers.
    12. It will be the athlete's responsibility to meet the above rules.

    Aid Stations

    Portable toilets will be added in locations throughout the course. The portable toilets will be

    Course Closings

    For your safety and for the timely reopen of the streets to vehicular traffic, you must reach key locations by specified times or you will be required to take transportation provided.

    • Partial lane closures will be utilized. Please stay inside the cones and obey all public safety officers and course marshals.
    • PLEASE DO NOT START EARLY! Traffic and safety rules prohibit early starts. Early starters will be eliminated from the Official Results

    SAG Wagon (support) and Back of the Pack Crew

    The Back of the Pack Crew and SAG Wagon will signify the end of the field and the maximum 16-minutes per mile pace. They will not start timing until the last person crosses the start line and will be with you throughout the race. If you cannot keep pace, the Crew will help you as you board the SAG Wagon. If you cannot maintain an 16-minute per mile pace, you will be required to board the support buses.

    Packet Pick-Up

    All participants must pick-up their race packet. There is NO RACE-DAY PACKET PICKUP. Please bring a photo ID to the pick-up location to retrieve your race packet. You may pick up on behalf of other participants. A copy of the participant’s photo ID is required.

    Spectator Info

    The streets of Atlanta are open to runners, but it's the spectators that will help them get to the finish line. From start to finish, there are excellent opportunities to catch loved ones and friends running in Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon®.

    Medical Info

    Medical support during the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® Series will be provided by health care professionals. Medical assistance will be available at each water station along the route providing medical assistance as needed. A fully-equipped medical facility will be located near the finish line.

    Participants requiring medical assistance may be transported to one of the nearby hospitals, and will be billed by the hospital and ambulance provider. Participants must give on-scene medical personnel the freedom to determine which facility will be utilized.

    IMPORTANT: Each participant must complete the medical information form on the back of your bib number. Please take time to fill out your medical information and provide emergency contact information. This will make your important health care information available to heath care professionals in the event you are unable to communicate with them.

    Volunteers

    Our road races are made for the people and run by the people. We take pride in working with some of the greatest individual and volunteer groups in the world. If you are interested in supporting thousands of runners and walkers at Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® Series, send us an email with your name, phone number and what you might be interested in helping with. Here are some of the things we could use help with: water stations (groups of 10 or more), start line support, finish line support, course marshals, registration and packet pick-up support, logistics and set-up (these are the people who get to lift and move things and work at night!)

    Entertainment

    Course Entertainment:

    Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® Series will have entertainment stations along the course. This includes: Bands, Performances, Cheer Squads, Community Group Aid Stations and Dj's pumping tunes that will keep you movin' all through out the fun-filled 13.1 mile course.

    Benefits:

    There are many highlights to performing for Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® Series. Group name and booking information listed on the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® Series web site. Group signage may also be displayed at your performance location as long as it does not interfere with the race. (Signage may only be 3'x6').

    Time: Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® Series begins at 7:00 AM, which means your group must be at their assigned location by 7 AM. Everyone will finish by 11 AM, with some groups ending earlier, depending on your location on the course.

    Where: Along the 13.1 mile half marathon course. Performance locations will be confirmed.

    Equipment: All groups will be responsible for supplying their own equipment. Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® Series will provide access to electricity, either from a business or a generator.

    This year we have the ability to see your results after the race in a mobile application for Android and iPhone devices! The application is called Bibs, and the Bibs app can be downloaded from the Apple Store and/or Google Store ... and, Bibs is sponsoring our event so the app is free! You can also view the course map and details and share your race results on Facebook, email, and text . . . all within the Bibs app! If you are at the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® as a friend or loved one, you can download the app as well. Download the Bibs app and search for their Bib number shortly after the race!

    All HALF MARATHON and 5K finishers will receive a medal upon crossing the finish line.

    Awards & Medals

    All participants that complete the half marathon and 5K race at the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® will receive a unique finisher's medal.

    All age group award medals will be distributed from the Results tent at the finish line on race day - so don't forget to stop by, get your official finishing time and check if you won an award!

    Custom designed award medals will be awarded 3 deep in each of the below age group for both males and females.

    Join the Pace Team and our running store partners for training runs, leading up to race week to help you get ready for the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon®. Training runs will take place at Phidippides and West Stride stores on the following weekend mornings. Training runs are FREE! Each training run will offer various distances to suit your training schedule. Training runs will also feature raffles, prizes and refreshments.     The 5K race at the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® will start and finish in Forsyth Conference Center 3410 Ronald Reagan Blvd Cumming, Georgia 30041.

    The 5K race is WALKER FRIENDLY. The course and finish line will be open for 3 hours and 30 minutes (16 minute/mile pace) for the 13.1® runners and should not affect 5K runners.

    All Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® affiliates will receive an entry fee group discount.  Affiliates' logo and organization description will be included on the Charity & Large Group Affiliate page under Race Partners.  Affiliates will also be eligible to earn race weekend benefits such as a finish line tent or PA announcements.

    As running and walking experience a major boom in popularity, the concept of running for a cause is also gaining significant attention and growth.  The Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® is proud to work with nonprofit groups and appreciates the integral role charity fundraising plays in drawing new runners and promoting the sport.  The opportunity to fundraise through races provides a great avenue for charities to cut through the competitive world of fundraising.  Running has evolved into a sport that encourages completion versus competition.  There are many sources of training information to help your charity runner complete the challenge of finishing a half marathon or 5K.  The goal is to get them started so they can get going!  Any nonprofit group that raises funds for charity can participate in the Charity Affiliate Program.

    How do I register for Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon®?

    Is there a minimum age?

    Yes. Participants must be at least 14 years old to run Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon®.

    How do I confirm my registration?

    All participants will receive a confirmation email upon registering. If you are registered for Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® and would like to either confirm your entry or receive another email confirmation, please click here.

    Is there a limit on the number of participants in the race?

    Yes, there is a race cap for both Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® and 5K. Make sure to sign up early to reserve your spot in the race

    When will registration end?

    Online registration will close when the race is full or on October 1, 2014. If registration is still open.

    What is the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® refund and transfer policy?

    We adhere to the standard running industry policy. All entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-deferrable. We have to plan accommodations well in advance for race participants, and therefore cannot offer refunds. You may not give or sell your race number to another individual. The entry fee for 2014 event WILL NOT transfer to the 2015 event, no exceptions. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have unexpected business or family emergencies, etc. No exceptions. Non-transferable.

    Can I register on the day of the event?

    There will be no race day registration.

    AWARDS

    Do all runners receive a medal for participating?

    Yes, each finisher in the half marathon and 5K will receive a commemorative finisher medal and will be eligible for age group awards. 5K race finishers will also be eligible for age group awards. Following the race there will be live entertainment and an awards ceremony. All participants and spectators are invited to attend the post-race party.

    How many miles are the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon®?

    The Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® is 13.1 miles.

    Can I run with IPods, mp3 players, strollers, dogs or headphones?

    NO. In consideration for safety of all participants, there will be NO coaches, skateboards, baby joggers, bikes, animals or in-line skates allowed on the course.

    Use of headphones during US Road Sports events is strongly discouraged for safety reasons.     How long is the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® course open for?

    The Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® is opened for 3.5 hours.

    Will I be able to finish the race on the sidewalk?

    Runners are expected to maintain a pace that will allow them to finish the course in 3.5 hours. After that runners will be able to finish the race on the sidewalk. Runners will be treated like pedestrians, and must obey all traffic laws.

    Can I walk?

    Yes. Participants may walk but they must be able to complete the race by 10:45 AM. Walkers must start behind the runners at the starting line. There is NO early start.

    Do I have to join a charity group to participate?

    No. You do not have to join a charity group to participate in the Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon®.

    What time will the roads/lanes be closed?

    Road and lane closures will be posted. Check the Race Info page for the street list with times.

    Is the course closed to traffic?

    The race shares the road with traffic. The runners will be in a coned lane that separated the runners from traffic. There will be Police Officers placed at each traffic intersection to control traffic.

    How many Hydration Station will you have?

    There will be 11 Hydration Stations along the course, with plenty of water and sports drink.

    Will there be food at the finish line?

    Yes, there will be a variety of food options available at the finish line festival. All race participants will have access to the food tent. Spectators will not be allowed access.

    Is the course USA Track and Field Certified?

    Yes. The Michelob ULTRA Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® course is USATF certified.

    RACE CONCERNS

    What do I do if I injure myself on the course?

    There will be medical support along the course at each Aid Station. There will also be ambulances, bike EMS and medical support throughout the course.
